Role Summary:

Flowserve, Hastings, is a manufacturer of vertical turbine pumps and components and includes a foundry, fabrication department, machine shop, assembly, repair, and shipping departments.

To help us maintain the standards our clients expect from us, we are hiring a Quality Assurance Manager to join the team, maintaining and evolving standards of QA at the site and across the enterprise.

Responsibilities & Requirements:

Your role as the local QA Manager is to effectively lead and mentor the Quality department to ensure a well-qualified and highly-motivated Quality team.

  • Support the goals and objectives of the quality organization within the Hastings facility
  • Embrace and drive accountability and performance-based culture focused on financial excellence (scrap, rework and warranty controls), supported by CIP and driven by initiative, teamwork, and personal accountability.
  • Provide leadership to achieve operational excellence through the processes of inspection planning, in-process and final inspection surveillance, analysis of data including First Pass Yield metrics, corrective action, and continual improvement.
  • Key Interface with customers and suppliers on quality issues plus the resolution of any problems within the process and final product acceptance
  • Allocate resources to effectively achieve customer satisfaction and OTP.
  • Drive the ‘Customer First’ philosophy throughout the organization.
  • Review NCR and ECNs to track COQ error rates and work any training issues directly with employees.
  • Site ISO Management Representative which involves a review site quality system on a constant basis and revises system to improve performance. Incorporate site quality system changes as needed to ensure optimal performance to meet customers’ requirements and full compliance with all federal, state, and country regulations.
  • Facilitate and support audits by external agencies and Customers. Develop responses to findings and ensure implementation and closure of all findings
  • Ensure internal and external quality audits are conducted to meet established standards
  • Assist with customer complaints and correction actions. Manage corrective actions in the Quality system and report deficiencies in responses and results.
  • Manage quality functions within established budgetary guidelines.

Requirements:

  • BS in Engineering
  • 5 years in a Leadership role over Quality Assurance
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • End-to-end quality implications experience. Able to create a strategy to create a sustainable culture for results.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and NSF Quality Management Systems
  • A change agent that possesses the ability to influence decision-making and build critical relationships in a manufacturing organization.
  • Strong business and financial acumen and possess good working knowledge and understanding of business operations with Leadership in RCCA and COPQ
  • Results-oriented with a passion for quality, service, and customer satisfaction.
  • Strong analytical skills and timely decision-making ability.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

  • Related experience in manufacturing, construction, or pump installation environments
  • Experience using ERP systems like Symix or SAP
