- Manager - Supply Chain Engineering
- This role is positioned within the Supply Chain team and is based in the company’s greater Newark, NJ headquarters.
The candidate must have the ability to actively engage and partner with the operations teams in the DC’s and FC’s to meet specific goals and objectives. A successful candidate will be able to work with functional groups including operations, logistics, IT, Human Resources, and other teams to lead projects related to continuous improvement with focus on labor productivity, cost optimization, process improvement, automation, KPI monitoring and reporting, and omnichannel fulfillment enablement. Further, a successful candidate will be able to work with corporate and field engineering teams to drive continuous improvement throughout all aspects of the supply chain.
Responsibilities
- Design processes, tools, and / or systems to optimize performance
- Conduct root cause analysis to investigate supply chain challenges to provide data driven recommendations on improvement opportunities
- Analyze performance and reporting metrics as track and improve labor productivity
- Create and update SOPs to support changes in operations
- Quantify costs and benefits on projects and prepare ROI analytics
- Coordinate and prioritize projects across multiple distribution facilities based on the company’s key initiatives and strategy
- Coordinate with Finance, Operations, IT, and other groups to ensure and consistent and thorough approach to projects, meetings, and other support efforts
- Act as a liaison to key business stakeholders, and interact with General Managers, Senior Managers, and Operations personnel to provide expert opinion on distribution and fulfillment engineering impact in the facilities.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience as a Supply Chain Engineer
- Familiarity with supply chain best practices in retail and ECommerce environments
- Experience working on major supply chain transformation projects such as network strategy, distribution operations, systems, and MHE automation
- Experience with labor standards/incentive programs development and maintenance
- Experience with Manhattan Associates WM tools including Labor Management
- Experience with facility layout CAD tools
- Expertise with project management tools including Microsoft Project
- Experience working with outside partners including consultants, software vendors, and integrators
- Up to 30% travel to distribution facilities
- Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on Company’s success
- Critical thinker and problem-solving skills; dealing with ambiguity a must
- Exceptional time-management skills in a fast paced, dynamic environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, team player
- Supply Chain management consulting background a plus
- BS in Industrial Engineering or similar relevant field, MBA preferred
