Ascension now hiring for a Part time  Medical Lab Assistant  Phlebotomist outpatient

 

Ascension Offsite location:

Wilson Center (Patient Service Center) Grosse Pointe Woods, MI

 

Monday 1500-1900 Tuesday-Friday 1300-1700

 

SIGN ON BONUS

Full and Part Time (prorated) Positions -

$2,000 paid out over 12 months

What You Will Do:

Collect and process blood specimens for testing and perform multiple clerical and processing functions. 

• Set up instruments. Maintain, clean and sterilize equipment and work area following safety, cleanliness, and infection control procedures.
• Receive, centrifuge, accession, process and transport specimens. Verify all related records. May draw and collect blood samples according to policy.
• Order add-on tests, work pending lists, and resolve duplicate orders.
• Perform clerical duties which may include answering phones, reviewing EKGs, collecting patient demographic data for patient registration, ordering tests, reviewing Advance Beneficiary Notice of Noncoverage (ABN), data entry and filing.

What You Will Need:

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.
• Certification specializing in Phlebotomy credentialed from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC) preferred.
• Medical Laboratory Assistant credentialed from the American Medical Technologists (AMT) preferred.
• Medical Laboratory Assistant credentialed from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC) preferred.
• Phlebotomy Tech preferred.
• Tech credentialed from the American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians preferred. Any issuing authority accepted.

Education:

• High school diploma or GED required.
