Multimedia Journalist - Sports Reporter

The News Herald, a Lee Enterprises company located in western North Carolina, is looking for a Sports Reporter.

Candidate would be responsible for covering high school sports, compiling sports briefs, staff reports, high school sports feature writing and game previews, college sports signings, keeping and compiling statistics, columns and more. And as this is a multimedia position, the candidate will be responsible for capturing videos, posting to social media, uploading stories and photos to the website and occasionally taking photographs.
 

The position also will include some other sports duties each week, including downloading and compiling wire content from The Associated Press and other Lee Newspapers, budgeting sports sections and approving page proofs.
 

In addition, the candidate will be tasked with assisting the newsroom on general news assignments to be determined by the News Editor.
