Job Summary:

The Plant Engineering Supervisor is responsible for serving directly as a Plant Engineer while also supervising a team of Plant Engineers. This team provides mechanical technical support to the Port Neal Complex to ensure that production units operate in the most safe, efficient, reliable, and environmentally compliant manner possible. This position ensures that the team's work complies with good engineering practices and meets the needs of stakeholders. This position will also have day-to-day oversight of staff needs and personnel development.

Job Description:

1. Supervise the daily activities of the Plant Engineering group, consisting of approximately 10 direct and contract personnel, supporting nine operating units, storage and loading facilities, and general offsites areas.

2. Directly contribute to Plant Engineering work product

3. Support CF Industries' corporate goals to improve inclusiveness and diversity within the organization and continuous improvement of workforce safety.

4. Manage requests for evaluation of mechanical equipment and piping from Operations, Maintenance, EHS, and Engineering departments. Assign Plant Engineering resources as necessary to assist in the evaluation and replacement of equipment.

5. Oversee continued development and improvements to the site mechanical integrity program.

6. Monitor resolution of mechanical-related action items generated by PHA studies, audits, Operating Standards, etc. to ensure responses are technically acceptable and provided in a timely manner.

7. Support Engineering Manager in assessment and prioritization of engineering work requests generated by stakeholders at the facility. Assign Plant Engineering resources as necessary to address these requests. Manage the assigned resources to assure plant needs are met in a safe and reliable manner.

8. Coordinate with operations, maintenance, and EHS departments to ensure Plant Engineering is meeting the end user's needs and comply with all laws, regulations, and standards.

9. Develop and manage the annual mechanical integrity budget.

10. Monitor Plant Engineering support of developing and approved capital projects.

11. Monitor resolution of Action Items generated by PHA studies, audits, Operating Standards, etc. to ensure responses are technically acceptable and provided in a timely manner.

12. Routinely communicate with Engineering Manager to understand priorities and communicate hurdles to achieving site goals.

Prerequisites:

1. BS degree in engineering from an ABET accredited university is required

2. Six or more years of mechanical engineering experience in the oil, gas, or chemical manufacturing industry is required; four must be at operating facilities.

3. Three or more years of experience with mechanical integrity is required.

4. Three or more years of hands-on in-plant experience is required.

5. Good communication skills (written and verbal) are required. Must be able to effectively communicate and interact with personnel at all levels in the organization and clearly document project scopes and justifications in writing.
