Job Description

This position will support the manufacturing facility located in Grambling, LA. The facility manufactures high temperature Block and Pipe Insulations made from Calcium Silicate. This key role has overall responsibility for process optimization. This includes establishing and evaluating data to identify process improvement opportunities, evaluating and determining appropriate solutions and implementing necessary changes. Position reports directly to the Facility Plant Manager. One of the driving goals of this position is to champion cost out opportunities without negatively impacting product quality or employee safety. Your Day-to-Day: * Champion cost out opportunities without negatively impacting product quality or employee safety. * Inspects and evaluates plant operations and recommends improvements. * Prioritizes process opportunities and projects * Design of new production equipment, and modification to systems and procedures * Establishes and manages training programs associated with process engineering and process control * Advises estimated costs of proposed projects * Coordinates and monitors project assignments in process improvement and process control * Advises and influences business and plant management in potential application of new advances in modification to existing plant facilities * Works with the plant in improving and implementing existing process engineering and process control programs * Maintains knowledge of new processes, process equipment, process control equipment, inspection and test methods, and the associated costs of these new techniques * Manages expenditures related to project assignments * Implements process engineering and maintenance improvement programs required to meet OSHA/IIG safety requirements What You Bring to the Table: * BS Engineering Degree, preferably in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Manufacturing or Materials Engineering Preferred Requirements: * Minimum three years of engineering experience in industrial process and process control systems. * Experience working in a continuous manufacturing environment. * Proven history of results orientation including ability to meet aggressive program deliverables, experience in cross-functional teams. * Exposure to manufacturing facilities safety and quality programs. * Experience with executing process optimization initiatives ranging from classical process engineering to advanced process controls. * Ability to keep abreast of the latest technology trends and have the ability to apply new technologies to IIG business problems where appropriate. * Solid critical process thinking skills. * Solid communications skills both verbal and written. * Demonstrated collaboration skills including the ability to interact with a broad range of employees. This position will require Teamwork with Maintenance, QA, and Production departments. * Project management skills. * Computer proficiency in software applications/environments required for analyzing, monitoring, costing, and reporting. * Demonstrated ability to provide complex and innovative solutions to process engineering problems. * Develop project cost estimates and manage project expenditures. * Ability to train and develop employees to assure operational flexibility and responsiveness, and increase technical knowledge. * Experience with a continuous process discipline such as Six Sigma/Lean/TQM manufacturing environment. Black/Green belt certification would be a plus. * Knowledge of systems modeling applications as applied to manufacturing systems.
