Work Hours/Shift:

Full Time

Normal working hours are 8:00 a.m. -5:00 p.m. Flexibility in scheduling due to varied work duties. May be required to work additional hours, weekends and holidays. Some work required outside of the hospital.

 

What You Will Need:

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree from an accredited institution with major in Public Relations, Journalism or Marketing/Communications required
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in public relations and marketing required
• Healthcare experience preferred

 

Job Summary:

The PR Specialist position requires the ability to think critically, multi-task, work with many varied people groups, handle media relations, writing and communicating in an expert manner, event planning and social media expertise.

Qualifications

You Will Be Responsible For:

Media Relations

• Handles all media relations for AdventHealth
• Build and foster relationships with local media

• Write, edit, distribute press releases, media alerts, public service announcements, social media posts and video scripts
• Pitch story ideas to multiple media outlets
• Plan and execute all media events including press conferences, interviews, press announcements, press briefings, tours, etc.
• Write copy for all advertising, marketing, website, blogs, grants and social media posts
• Write all speeches, community letters and updates as needed

Serve as Web Coordinator

• Develop, maintain and update web content for both adventhealthcentraltexas.com and AdventHealth Connect
• Upload photographs, testimonials, videos, etc.
• Work with AdventHealth Corporate on key changes

Serve as Social Media Coordinator

• Develop messaging plan that complements messaging in marketing campaigns
• Engage in and communicate with support community
• Inform online community of upcoming system events, awards, news, updates, etc.
• Post photos and videos on a regular basis
• Respond to questions, comments and reviews posted on social media

Coordinate Various projects as needed

• Develop and publish quarterly newsletters for external and internal audiences
• Be an active member in at least one community organization
• Manage outside vendors as needed to complete various projects

Any other duties as needed
