Position Summary
The QA Technician is responsible for inspecting and testing manufactured goods to determine if they are safe to use and meet or exceed “Quality” standards as set by both the retailer and manufacturer. They will assist in the development of new QA processes as necessary.

 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Evaluate both food & non-food products using basic sensory and analytical technique and instrumentation for conformance to established specifications and standards.

• Develop effective QA processes that enable Daymon team to communicate the “Quality” message.

• Develop strong business relationships with QA representatives from key vendor and retail partners

• Understand and support the role Daymon plays within the industry

• Understand role within sales process…quality / integrity is key to long term acceptance

• Understand industry and driving factors / trends

• Additional duties as assigned

Direct Reports
- This position does not have supervisory responsibilities for direct reports

Indirect Reports
- This position does not have guidance or mentoring responsibilities for indirect reports

 

Travel and/or Driving Requirements

Minimum Qualifications The following are the minimum job-related qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job

 

Education Level: (Required): Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Field of Study/Area of Experience:
0-2 Years of work experience, 1-2 years sensory related experience and analysis.

 

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Strong knowledge of quality assurance principles, practices and procedures.
Strong knowledge of appropriate federal, state and local rules and regulations
Strong Written & Verbal Communication Skills
Basic Computer Skills, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Outlook, & web browsers
Ability to Work Independently & Prioritize with minimal supervision, in order to Meet Deadlines
Flexible & Adaptable, able to change & Alter According to changes in Projects or Business Environment
Proven problem-solving skills
Familiarity with texture analysis, color screening and other product attributes and characteristics
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions

 

Environmental & Physical Requirements

Office / Non-Sedentary Requirements
Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work may be performed in an office or warehouse environment. Typically requires the ability to spend 66%+ hours each work day doing the following activities: stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend, stoop, or climb. May have possible exposure to dust, and may require the ability to lift and/or push up to 50 pounds 33% - 66% of the time.
