Job Description

Polk County Schools is partnering with INVO Healthcare to hire a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst to join their esteemed mental and behavioral health team. The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) will work under supervision of an INVO Board-Certified Behavior Analysit (BCBA) in providing intensive services for both children and adolecents in one center school location. 
 
An IMPACT Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) will assist in providing intensive services for both children and adolescents, as well as supporting parents through skills training as per Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). The following summarizes duties, as assigned:  

  • Maintain and have an active certification per the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
  • Contact caregivers to obtain consent as needed
  • Establish professional working relationships with school administrators and personnel
  • Provide direct care to students in a one-to-one, group, or classroom setting to implement skill acquisition and/or behavior reduction procedures as directed by supervising BCBA
  • Collaborate, communicate, and assist with training of parents and/or school personnel as directed by supervising BCBA
  • Collect and record accurate data on student and/or school staff behavior
  • Visually inspect data and communicate findings with supervising BCBA
  • Assist in conducting assessments (i.e., FBA, interviews, ABC data collection, etc.) as directed by supervising BCBA
  • Assist supervising BCBA on the development of Behavior Support Plans
  • Provide regular written and verbal progress updates on contacts with students, teachers, and caregivers to supervising BCBA
  • Communicate pertinent interactions with students, caregivers, and school staff to supervising BCBA
  • Attend and participate in team meetings and professional development trainings
  • Maintain RBT supervision log (for those with RBT credentials)
  • Attend school administrative meetings as directed by supervising BCBA
  • Maintain strict confidentiality
  • Be familiar with and abide by the RBT Ethics Code (the same expectations for RBT and non-RBT credentialed behavior specialists)
  • Maintain proficiency in all tasks within the RBT Task List 2nd Ed
  • Perform behavior-analytic activities not included in the RBT Task List (2nd ed.) as directed and trained by supervising BCBA, as stated in the RBT Task List (2nd ed.).
  • Communicate with supervising BCBA when further training is needed on a behavior-analytic task they are asked to perform
  • Maintain a certification in Professional Crisis Management (PCM- training provided) and assisting the team in crisis response and de-escalation
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Complete the requisite 40 hours of training, overseen by either a BCBA, BCaBA, or BCBA-D
  • Complete and pass the RBT Competency Assessment, in which an assessor observes and evaluates your performance of RBT tasks
  • Complete and pass the RBT exam, which is comprised of 75 multiple-choice questions and assesses the applicant’s knowledge of the RBT Task List
  • Abide by the RBT Ethics Code
  • Experience working with students with significant behaviors, such as physical aggression, verbal threats, elopement, property destruction, self-injurious behaviors
  • Experience in the school setting preferred
