Job Description

Shearer Operator

FULL-TIME

$17.45/hr

Placing different types of rebar, flat stock, angle, wire mesh, coil rod, and channel on rollers and cutting them to the prescribed lengths and/or punch holes in them as required by the shop card. Assist in unloading incoming trucks of material for steel shop.

Duties include:
- Moving material from storage racks to rollers or shake-out tables with an overhead (bridge) crane.
- Setting jig to the required length.
- Hand feed material into ironworker.
- Shearing and/or punching holes in flat stock, angle, wire mesh, coil rod, and rebar.
- Stacking material on pallets or material buggy (cart) for different jobs or pours and marking accordingly.
- Assist in unloading incoming trucks of material for the steel shop.
- Cleaning and keeping safe work area including sweeping floor, and disposal of scrap metal.
- Performing miscellaneous duties as directed by Supervisor.

Schedule

Shift start: 5:00AM or 6:00AM
Shift length: 9 hours
Monday-Friday. Start time is usually the same, end time depends on when work is completed

• Must pass drug screen (cannabis excluded)
• Can lift 25 lbs
• Must be at least 18+ years old
