Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Business Development Teams identify, develop, and implement near-term and long-term business development strategies relating to the development of new products, technologies and services. They identify markets and determine the feasibility of business and product development. Our Teams perform economic analyses on new or improved product opportunities, develop business models and determine market trends to substantiate long-term prospects.

TE sells both directly to customers and through Channel Distribution partners around the globe. In the Channel business, we work closely with our distributors to provide our end customers with TE‘s products and solutions across our various end markets
 
The Strategy and Business Development team develops and implements key strategic initiatives and business development opportunities within the Channel. The Analyst, Strategy and Business Development, will be a key member of the group and actively lead analysis & projects for the team. The Analyst will work closely with functional experts in Channel and throughout the rest of TE to deliver immediate business impact through recommendations based on the evaluation of quantitative and qualitative data.

A key element of success for this role will be the ability to take disparate data points and analyze them for commonality, cause/effect, and key business indicators. Furthermore, a critical skill is the ability to succinctly present results and recommendations to the organization with the purpose of influencing behaviors and business decisions. The ability to manage stakeholders, influence thinking, achieve impactful business results, apply critical thinking, and continuously challenge existing practices is critical to success in this role. Keeping stakeholders informed, asking questions when uncertain, and accountability are vital as well.

Key Tasks

Key responsibilities include:
•    Direct support of one of Channel’s most impactful strategic initiatives. This may involve:
o    Strategic and financial evaluation of performance and opportunities.
o    Providing descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and or prescriptive analytics.
o    Influencing sales, finance, customer care, as well as other functions and business units.
o    Supporting execution of the initiative, fully or partially owning one or more work streams.
•    Ad-hoc support of other initiatives and value drivers.
o    Analysis and modeling for strategic initiatives such as go-to-market optimization, opportunity pipelines, and third-party partnerships.
o    Establishing automated data and analytic reports that will enable others to make business decisions.
o    Supporting business intelligence across different functions regarding strategic decision making.
•    Enabling and providing clear and concise communications on strategic topics to senior leadership.
•    Evaluation of market data, competitive activities, and sales activity, issuing impactful recommendations for the Channel business.
 
Key projects may include but not limited to the following: 
•    Supporting the annual strategy development process.
•    Supporting and developing key sales initiatives (including pilot development / execution) with strategic distribution partners and or end customers using data analytics and business frameworks.
•    Leveraging predictive analytics and competitive intelligence tools to shape strategy.
•    Developing go-to-market strategies for key emerging markets and providing data-driven recommendations to enhance sales coverage.
•    Analyze effectiveness of New Product launches into TE’s Channel Business.
•    Working with Finance and Sales Operations to analyze key metrics and provide recommendations to reduce cost-to-serve.
•    Leverage Sales Marketing Automation data to prioritize leads for sales and marketing, and measure effectiveness of campaigns.
•    Create framework for success measures on distributor marketing campaigns.

Key Qualifications, Experiences and Knowledge:

Required: 

•    Bachelor’s degree in Business, Science, or Engineering from a leading institution
•    3-5 years professional experience as a business analyst, preferably in strategy, business development, distribution sales, sales operations, pricing, or similar commercial background.
•    Experience in driving or supporting strategic projects and delivering results in cross-departmental teams.
•    Solid understanding of and the ability to identify the key levers that create business value.
•    Strong background in financial analysis, modeling, and evaluation of opportunities.
•    Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to influence others using data and analytics, presented in clear, concise method to various functions and senior leadership.
•    Ability to manage multiple assignments at once and prioritize appropriately.
•    Experience in conducting in-depth market and industry research.
•    Very strong capabilities of Excel and PowerPoint.
•    Willingness to travel to our business unit locations worldwide (<10% travel).
•    Fluency in English language.

Preferred: 

•    R, Python, PowerPivot, SQL and Tableau proficiency (e.g. data mining techniques).
•    Experience working in a B2B, multi-tiered sales environment.
•    Process Improvement (Lean, 6Sigma, etc.) and report automation experience.
•    Knowledge of TE systems, processes, and organization structure.
•    Master’s Degree.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $64,600.00 – $84,000.00 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
