US Synthetic, a ChampionX company has an immediate need for a Machinist II located in Orem, UT. The Machinist II will machine and resurface machine parts for production floor or Research and Development. Machine required parts to print.

What You Will Do:

  • Respond to customer machine build and repair needs, i.e. handles for machines, tapping holes, turning material, etc.
  • Read prints and produce parts according to specifications for Research and Development techs, engineers, automation, maintenance, etc.
  • Surface grind salt punches for repair
  • Verify conformance of machined parts to specifications
  • Laser etch part number into all machined parts and parts produced
  • Design of parts and fixturing
  • Follow all company policies (Attendance, No Tobacco Products on Campus, Illegal Drug & Alcohol, Family Medical Leave Act, Personal Appearance, Personal Electronic Devices, Vacation & Personal Time, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Immigration sponsorship not available for this role
  • Technical School - 2 years associate degree or 2 years machinist experience

Physical Demands:

  • Standing for eight or more hours
  • Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Use of safety equipment (Safety glasses, Steel-toed boots, Fire-proof coat and gloves for over, Hearing protection)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to read technical prints
  • Ability to use measuring tools, i.e. micrometers, inside micrometers, dial indicators, etc.
  • Willingness to keep work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations (5S)
  • Some Trigonometry knowledge
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Computer Numerical Control knowledge
  • Pro-E manufacturing and drawing knowledge
  • “Feeds and Speeds” knowledge
  • Advanced GD&T knowledge
  • Raw materials knowledge
  • VIP training
  • Leadership training
