Job Description

Our client is a Culinary Digital Publisher who is seeking to hire a Video Production Manager to join their team.



Salary/Hourly Rate:

Dependent on experience



Position Overview:

The Production Manager will act as a key player on the Production Management team that produces best-in-class video content.



Responsibilities of the Production Manager:

  • Working with various teams and departments to ensure content is produced efficiently and delivered within budget parameters, following established policies and procedures, meeting publishing deadlines, and satisfying creative expectations
  • Manage, keep track, and report on all aspects of production from development to delivery
  • Determine and manage content production budgets, deliverable timelines, and the coordination and logistics for execution
  • Oversee a strong rolodex of freelance crews both domestically and internationally
  • Provide administrative and internal process support to assigned production activities
  • Provide direction on the production process and ensure business requirements are met in a timely manner across all departments involving Production Management, Business Affairs, Programming, Marketing, Sales, Strategy, and Accounting
  • Serve as the contact for coordinating crew, equipment, travel logistics (domestic and internationally), on-site production needs, budgets, permits, contracts, releases, insurance, post production, scheduling, and various other production requirements
  • Gather, track and report on all project finances
  • Review, approve and submit expense reports, credit card reconciliations, and invoices
  • Recognize deviations from accepted practices and confirm appropriate next steps


Qualifications for the Production Manager:

  • 3-5 years of Production Management experience
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Detailed, concise and effective communication and record-keeping
  • Ability to effectively lead a team and implement workflow and process
  • Familiarity of contracting, negotiating, scheduling, and managing vendors and crews
  • Experience with permitting, international travel and production requirements
  • Familiarity with budgeting, scouting, obtaining releases, purchase orders, call sheets, booking freelance production crews and equipment, coordinating travel, permitting, scheduling, handling insurance requirements, production and post-production scheduling, reconciling financials, and cost reporting is required
  • Skilled in compliance with contractual obligations, permitting, labor laws, international visa & carnet requirements, safety, and insurance needs
  • Must be computer savvy with skills in G-Suite by Google Cloud and various budgeting, cost reporting, financial, and project management software
  • Familiarity with Camera Equipment, Lighting, Audio, and Post Production Equipment and needs


Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required
