Job Purpose
BTIG offers a unique opportunity as our Investment Banking platform continues to grow. BTIG has a strong track record and reputation with a focus on middle market clients. Vice Presidents can feel confident they will have the support they need to serve clients and establish their line of business within the firm. This role includes originating and executing transactions in the TMT sector, focused in Software & Services, across a wide range of products including: acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, leveraged buyouts, spin-offs, split-offs, equity, anti-raid, debt (investment grade and high-yield), private placement, relationships with activist shareholders, defense from hostile take-overs and financing decisions, and other capital markets transactions. We expect this role to best fit an experienced banker with trusted client relationships who is interested in being part of a growing full-service investment banking platform.
Primary responsibilities include generating new business for the firm, managing existing client engagements, closing transactions, and mentoring junior banking team members. Duties & Responsibilities
- Actively pursue business development opportunities and market a full range of investment banking services and solutions to prospective clients
- Create and manage new deal flow and originate new client engagements that fit the strategy of the firm
- Use relationships with established network to generate new opportunities
- Develop client networks, establish and maintain pipeline, and support efforts in developing and executing sales and marketing strategies
- Lead on a variety of transactions in all industries and stages, from initial client pitch to transaction closing in collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Strong day-to-day deal execution, negotiation, and closing skills
- Communicate financial information and strategic issues in a clear, concise, and relevant manner to assist and guide executives in corporate finance transactions
- Demonstrate extraordinary attention to detail on client deliverables
- Maintain and manage client relationships and be actively involved at the key strategic points of each transaction
- Provide leadership, professional development, and mentoring for junior bankers
- Act as strategic advisor to clients enabling them to achieve their long-term goals
- Be a team player and culture carrier
- 7-10 years of experience within the TMT sector, focused in Software & Services
- Established network and ability to develop strong and influential client relationships
- Highly regarded reputation with credibility to enable expected business development
- Exceptional work ethic, professional integrity, and emotional intelligence
- Keen negotiation skills and an entrepreneurial acumen
- Self-motivated with an innate drive to succeed
- Passion to mentor and develop talent
- Strong business development skills and track record
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
- Series 63 & 79
- Must be authorized to work full time in the U.S., BTIG does not offer sponsorship for work visas of any type
