Position Purpose

The Paycom Senior Attorney, Financial Services is a high performing senior individual on the legal team.  The Senior Attorney acts a mentor for attorneys and partners closely with department leadership to provide legal counsel to the Paycom business.  This role works directly with the Company’s treasury, investment, finance, and risk management functions and other internal stakeholders as the primary contributor of legal advice for daily financial services operations.

 Responsibilities

• Provides guidance and support on organizational legal issues specifically related to the ongoing operations of the Company’s financial services.
• Create and implement relevant policies, procedures and training for company employees.
• Manage and counsel the business on complex commercial agreements.
• Understands and communicates relevant laws and regulations to internal stakeholders including all applicable state and federal laws and regulations that impact the Company’s financial services.  
• Assist in the ongoing development and execution of the company’s Anti-Money Laundering and Know Your Customer programs.
• Manage and provide counsel for the ongoing compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements.  
• Understands broader set of issues outside of discipline, looks horizontally and vertically to consider multiple job areas, and draws from experience to formulate defense or initiate legal actions.
• Collaborate with senior Legal team members.
• Advises business on best practices to reduce liability.  
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Certification:     

• Juris Doctorate or equivalent from an accredited law school required.

Experience Required:

• Admission to Oklahoma Bar in good standing.
• 4+ years legal experience.

Experience Preferred:

• Experience advising clients on the U.S. ACH Network, the Bank Secrecy Act, and the Gramm Leach Bliley Act preferred.
• Experience in developing Anti-Money Laundering and Know Your Customer programs preferred.
• In-house experience at a high growth financial services company or financial institution preferred.

• High level of EQ with the ability to communicate professionally with all levels of employees including senior leadership
• Highly developed executive presence and confidence in public speaking
• Demonstrated ability to work easily and effectively cross-departmentally with a wide range of people practicing leadership, influence, and motivation
• Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment
• A strong work ethic, be willing to work flexible hours including nights/weekends and travel to events as needed
