StaRN – RN Plus Case Management Program- HCA Houston Healthcare- Corpus Christi Medical Center, Valley Reginal Medical Center and Rio Grande Regional Hospital Openings

Program Starts: November 15th

StaRN - Plus Case Manager Program provides the experienced RN with a comprehensive blended program for HCA Healthcare. The experienced RN with current critical care clinical nursing experience will receive the necessary knowledge, skills, and tools, in order to transition to the Acute Care Case Management Role within the HCA Healthcare System.

The program is based on the American Case Management Association (ACMA) Compass Case Management Core Curriculum. The HCA Corporate and Division Initiatives will be incorporated as well. Learners will also be trained on the Midas Electronic Documentation System and InterQual Criteria for Severity of Illness and Intensity of Services.

12 - Week training for Case Management experienced RNs

• Five (5) weeks of interactive classroom discussions, case studies, and clinical documentation training with experienced StaRN clinical instructors

• Seven (7) weeks of Case Management Department Preceptorship

What is expected of the Learners during the program?

All learners are required to attend every didactic, facility, and scheduled days in preceptorship. All learners are expected to come to class prepared with a laptop, dressed appropriately, and with a professional, engaged, and courteous attitude at all times.

Where will the training be conducted?

• Didactic / skills classroom instruction will be held at a centrally agreed upon location (facility training room, hotel, or college classroom).

• Facility days will be held at the sponsoring facility for each learner.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelors of Science in Nursing is preferred. ADN must be enrolling into BSN to be considered.

What qualification you will need:

Graduate of an accredited nursing school within
Texas RN License is required to start the residency program.
