Urban Planner | Bradenton, FL

Full-time | Hybrid


Kelly Engineering is seeking MULTIPLE Planners (Planner I, Planner II, Planner III, Senior Planner, Principal Planner) to join our client’s Planning and Zoning Department. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, technical, planning and/or zoning assignments.


Salary: $45,000+ (Depending on qualifications and years of experience) + relocation expenses + full benefits package (see below)


Client is open to covering relocation expenses.


Overview

· Assists in review of small-scale or moderately difficult developments for compliance with codes.

· Prepares/assists with reports.

· Develops and conducts special studies and analysis.

· Assists applicants in the rezoning process.

· Assists in zoning ordinances and land development regulations.

· Provides support to other levels as required.

· May make presentations.

· Assists with plan amendments.

· Conducts analysis and consistency reviews.

· Confers with the general public, County Officials, and internal customers as required.

· Reviews tree removal and/or replacement operations on private developments; provides arboricultural technical assistance for other agencies; performs tree health analyses; conducts tree inventories; ensures compliance with tree-related provisions of the Comprehensive Plan and Land Development Code.

· Conducts Zoning Review for Building Permits.


Minimum Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Planning, Environmental Science, Landscape Architecture, or field closely related to area of assignment

· 2+ years related professional planning experience or field closely related to area of assignment

· Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

· Knowledge of Federal, State, and local laws and policies applicable to environmental regulation, landscape design, urban forestry and planning, zoning, and subdivision/land use control.

· Valid driver's license with valid Florida driver's license within 30 days of hire.

· GIS Mapping experience is a plus, but not needed for these roles
