Our Client is an award-winning landscape architecture and urban planning firm providing a full service approach to the site development process. The practice was originally founded in 2000 and has contributed to locally iconic places throughout South Florida. The firm provides a broad scope of design and consulting services including Implementation of designs for the private and public sectors in the institutional, public, commercial, transportation, equestrian, parks and recreation, resorts and residential topologies.

Position Summary

We are looking for an exceptional Land Use / Urban Planner to play a key role in growing the firm's business. The ideal candidate will manage all aspects of local permitting processes, including but not limited to conducting research to define permitting requirements, coordinating with local jurisdictions during permitting processes, developing permitting plans, coordinating and participating in public meetings and hearings, and developing or coordinating permit applications and required components such as decommissioning plans, landscape plans, and Comprehensive Plan consistency reviews. As the firm serves both public and private sectors, a diverse project experience will be a plus. This will be an opportunity to work on a 110 acre headquarters of a Polo Association, an Olympic Skate Park & Aquatic Complex, a 120 acre Industrial corporate Master Plan, a 35 acre Mixed Use Project and Multiple Public and Private University and School Campus Designs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret and apply applicable state, county and local codes, ordinances and regulations to Site Plan and Land Development Entitlement Applications
  • Work alongside landscape architects and site planners to develop plans conforming to land development regulations
  • Hold in-depth knowledge of Palm Beach County municipalities and South Florida codes, ordinances and procedures pertaining to Planning and Zoning petitions.
  • Initiate actions necessary to resolve site planning issues
  • Prepare presentation materials and presents at Public Hearing meetings

Required Skills, Experience & Education
  • Five (5) years of experience in Land Planning and Zoning or related field
  • Ability to work with Landscape Architects and other consultants as well as government staff
  • Excellent writing, editing, research, communication, critical thinking and presentation skills are required
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and work effectively with others
  • Bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning is required
